Billionaire Mark Cuban jumped at the opportunity to buy 25% of Rugged Maniac when the owners appeared on the hit ABC TV show Shark Tank. Once I realized Mr. Cuban was involved I wanted to be a part of the action too. For 3 quarters I worked to visually reinvent the Rugged Maniac brand from a small-time popup race to an established player in the Obstacle Course Racing (OCR) world. The 2015 season brings many changes for Rugged including sweet new swag, big impressive medals, a new Start/Finish arena with custom inflatable arches, new tents, obstacle skins, merchandise and signage galore. Crowds are flocking to Rugged Maniac events and nearly every review positively notes the new medals and shirt designs. During my first few months at RM social media followers increased by 30%+ over a few shorts months due to better branding.
